Palliativteam Hochtaunus
Care at home, in a nursing home, or in hospice
10 years of the Hochtaunus palliative care team
In 2023, the Hochtaunus palliative care team turned ten years old. To mark the occasion, Andreas Hett, freelance art therapist and filmmaker, accompanied the team in its work. The film provides an insight into the daily work of the Hochtaunus palliative care team, from visits to patients and discussions with relatives to work in the office.
We - Palliativteam Hochtaunus - want to enable staying in the home environment, involve family members and avoid a transfer to the hospital whenever possible.

Palliativteam Hochtaunus - Living at home. Until the end.
When a terminally ill person who is being cared for at home suffers from unbearable pain, shortness of breath, nausea, anxiety, or other severe symptoms, family members quickly feel helpless, overwhelmed, and often react panicky if it is the patient's wish to avoid a hospital stay. In such crisis situations or other emergencies, a call to the Palliative Care Team Hochtaunus is sufficient and a doctor and/or nurse will cometo provide assistance and make decisions.
Palliativteam Hochtaunus, a team of a team of specialized outpatient palliative care (SAPV) professionals, provides around-the-clock support for patients with advanced disease and complex care needs as well as their family members. The aim is to alleviate symptoms, maintain or improve the quality of life of those affected and their families, and provide them with relief and security. The goal is to enable the patient to stay at home until their death.
The specialized outpatient palliative care (SAPV) by the Palliative Care Team is prescribed by the general practitioner, and the costs are covered by health insurance.
The Palliative Care Team Hochtaunus provides palliative care for patients with progressive cancer, lung disease, cardiovascular disease, or neurological disease.
